Registration for our Summer 2018 Recreational League will open up mid-January 2018.

Check back with us to register!

GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

Our Recreational Program offers a developmental intra-club experience, providing healthy activity emphasizing enjoyment over competition.  This small-sided format is excellent for players ages 4-13 that are primarily interested in fun, fitness and friendship while playing in their local community.  Your child must be 4 years old before August 1st of the program year to participate.

The CC United Recreational League offers youth players the opportunity to learn the skills, techniques and rules of soccer. We assign players to teams to help ensure a balance of experience and age. The focus of recreational soccer is toward participation and fun over competition.

What is included in my Rec Fee?
9 weeks of practices, 8 weeks of games, referees for older ages, Jamboree, Uniform, MYSA Player Registration Fee and MYSA Supplemental Insurance.

Equipment Needed
Shin guards REQUIRED for ALL players. Shin guards MUST be completely covered by long socks. Shorts or sweatpants may be worn. (Dress appropriately for the weather.) Tennis shoes or soccer shoes may be worn. Team jerseys, shorts and socks will be provided by the club and are included in the registration fee. ALL JEWELRY/EARRINGS MUST BE REMOVED!

All players are encouraged to bring a ball to practice and games.
- Grades Pre-K-2 use a size 3 ball
- Grades 3-7 use a size 4 ball

Practices
There will be one practice a week beginning the second week of April. A team coach will notify each player regarding practice time and field. All practices will be outside, dress players appropriately for weather. Parents/Guardians should use their judgment on sending children to practice. Coaches will notify players if practice is canceled due to weather or field conditions.

Game Day
Games are played on Saturdays starting in mid April and ending late June with our Summer Rec Jamboree. (No games will be played Memorial Day weekend). There will be a 9 game season (8 games with 1 rain day). Rosters and schedules will be made available approximately two weeks before the season begins. A handbook will be available online containing field locations, basic notes of soccer and other pertinent information.

Rec Games are played in all weather with the exception of lightening, hail, tornado or poor field conditions. Cancelations will be communicated via twitter, e-mail and posted on the website. If you are uncertain, please contact your coach.

Team Pictures
Team pictures will be scheduled around each team's game or practice schedule in April or May. Coaches will hand out team picture information, including schedule and order forms by the first week of the season.

Registration/Fees
Registrations received after the early bird deadline will automatically increase.  Phase One registration will close on the stated deadline to allow for the creation of teams.  Phase Two registration will open immediately. CC United Soccer Club accepts Visa, MasterCard, or check.

The club has eliminated the Rec Volunteer Fee. Families are encouraged to volunteer by coaching, being a team manager, helping with field set-up/take down, or helping at the Jamboree. Visit the Club website for Volunteer Opportunities or contact the Club Volunteer Coordinator.

Team Selection
Registration is based on the grade your child is currently in for current school year. CC United will field teams for Pre-K through Grade 7.

Teams will be gender and grade specific if registration numbers allow. Pre-Kindergarten teams may be co-ed, but all other grades will be gender specific.  Team formation will not be based on school/neighborhoods to encourage interaction across our entire soccer community. The rec program goals are fun, fitness and development of soccer skills.  CC United will try to accommodate ONE special request. Only reciprocal requests will be considered.
(For those players interested in moving into the competitive program in the future, competitive teams are rostered based on skills only.)

The Pre-Kindergarten group spans a couple of different ages.  This group is separated into those ready to attend kindergarten in the fall and those younger players.  The teams are rostered into two or three groups based on these age differences and teams only play other Pre-K teams from the same age group.

Coaches
All coaches are volunteers. Training will be provided at the beginning of the season with a pre-season clinic to be hosted in collaboration with the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA). IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING, please see our  Recreational League Calendar for important dates.

Volunteers Needed
Volunteers include coaches, team managers, and field preparation. All volunteer coaches must complete an online consent/disclosure form for the MYSA.

  • Coaches - will receive training from the CC United Director of Coaching and the MYSA prior to the season
  • Team Managers - will be responsible for assisting coaches with a phone tree and treat schedule
  • Field Preparation - entails helping set up the fields one week before the season begins, maintaining the fields during the season and taking the fields down
