The MYSA requires that background checks be conducted on its adult participants once per year. The background checks run concurrent with the calendar year, January - December.
If you are 18 years old for any part of the year, a background check is required.
The MYSA currently uses the McDowell Agency for the secure background checks required. This process is a requirement for securing insurance through the MYSA, as well as obtaining an official coach and/or manager pass required on game days.
If you serve multiple capacities within the club (i.e club staff or board member, manager, coach, referee, or administrator) you only need to complete ONE MYSA background check.
